In order to accommodate the increasing demand for our services worldwide, we are currently seeking Quality Assurance (QA) Technicians for career placement within our Technical Services Department. These positions recognize and support the industry’s attention to quality management throughout the life cycle of a drilling program; including all of the associated tools used to drill and complete its wells. In practice, our technicians work jointly with project and engineering managers to provide a broad spectrum of quality services that are uniquely tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
As a global service provider, we employ technicians that reside across the United States, and all over the world. Considering the significant rise in both international and domestic on and offshore drilling operations, there’s an outstanding chance you can contribute to our operations, should you have demonstrated proficiency serving the industry in any of these areas:
- Quality Assurance & Control
- DS-1®, Customer, Industry, or Vendor Specification enforcement
- Third Party Monitoring of Drill Pipe Inspection
- Witness of Inspection, Assembly, & Function Testing for Specialty Tools
- Mill Surveillance of Drill Pipe Manufacture
- Casing & Tubing and Completions Equipment
- Qualification of Landing String Components, Handling Equipment, & Lifting Equipment
- Quality Audits
- Quality Management System (QMS) reviews and technical process audits of Rental/Specialty Tool Providers, Inspection Facilities, Machine Shops, and Rig-Sites to evaluate conformance to applicable international, industry, internal, and customer specific standards.
- Rig-site Training and Equipment Handling Evaluation
- Monitor equipment make-up, running, and handling practices, evaluate drilling equipment inventory and storage practices, and providing instruction, training, and guidance as necessary
- Training & Development
- Providing on the job training, instruction, and mentorship to fellow employees.
Most all positions are field based, include scheduled time off, and have extensive travel and overtime opportunities. Reliable transportation and proficiency in MS Office applications is required. While many assignments require specific knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials, NDT inspection experience and ASNT Level II certification in MT, UT, & PT is highly desired.

Job Responsibilities for Assigned Accounts / Regions:
- Sell T H Hill Associates, Inc.’s consulting services specifically related to engineering solutions, training, standards and technology development, project management, and third party quality control of inspection, assembly, function testing, and repair of drilling equipment
- Interface with clients as necessary to facilitate the sale of new work, discuss ongoing work, develop creative and professional solutions to any issues that arise, recap prior work, expand our services within the client’s organization, and network and socialize to build personal and corporate relationships
- Maintain existing customer relationships and facilitate continuing involvement in exploration and development programs
- Develop new contacts and close deals with oil and gas operators and service companies. Actively work to generate new leads; find out about new projects and initiate contact with key buyers
- Attend trade shows and conferences
- Negotiate and review contracts
- Identify and present opportunities for growth to upper management
- Make recommendations to and work with senior management to capitalize on business opportunities and increase productivity

Because of continued growth and success, T H Hill Associates, Inc. is looking for qualified candidates to fill Project Manager positions. These positions are based in Houston, but offer future relocation opportunities both domestically and internationally. The Project Manager will work as the liaison between our team of quality assurance technicians and assigned clients to reduce non-productive time associated with drilling and completions equipment for the client. The Project Manager will report to the Manager of Technical Services at T H Hill Associates, Inc. These positions are considered quite challenging and require critical thinking, process development, mapping, management, personnel management, presentation development and delivery, database management, and metrics development and tracking, among others.
Specific job functions include:
- Work with, direct, and in some cases supervise the activity of field level quality assurance personnel assigned to the team.
- Identifying customer needs where T H Hill capabilities will benefit the customer
- Monitoring and advising the customer of job progress
- Ensure that lessons learned and customer requirements are catalogued and disseminated as appropriate.
Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:
- Four year college degree preferred
- At least 5 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
- Experience with managing personnel on client projects
- Experience with qualifying drilling equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills

As a result of business growth, we are seeking qualified personnel for the following key position:
Project Engineer
This is an entry level position for mechanical design and optimization, stress analysis, and failure analysis of drilling, completions and other related equipment. Candidates with a Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering may apply. Candidates with a minor in Materials Engineering will be given preference. Proficiency in MS Office is a must. Original technical writing sample(s) needed for interview consideration. This position is based in Houston.
Candidates will be expected to interact with clients to solve drilling and completion related problems. While primarily based in Houston, opportunities exist, based on ability and experience, for international project work and in-house project operator support for both short and long term durations.
Candidates with any of the following prior experience will be given priority consideration:
- Drilling engineer for major and/or independent operators or major service companies
- Down-hole tool designers with broad range of demonstrated mechanical skills
